Awards of Bright Hills

Awards are one of the ways Their Excellencies recognize members of our populace for their service, talents, accomplishments, and contributions to the Barony.

Baronial awards are given at the discretion of the Baron and Baroness, or through the polling process for orders that require it. Some recognize long-term service, while others celebrate excellence in the Arts & Sciences, martial activities, teaching, courtesy, or contributions to the community.

You don’t need to be a peer, officer, or long-time member to receive a Baronial award. If someone has made a meaningful contribution to Bright Hills, they may be deserving of recognition.

The Awards of Bright Hills

Award	Recognizes
Order of St. Barbara	Members who have been involved with the Barony for 10 years or more. This is a polling order.
Order of Job	Long-term service to Bright Hills.
Order of the Shell and Crescent	Excellence and skill in the Arts & Sciences.
Order of the Silver Scroll	Excellence in teaching and instruction in the Arts & Sciences.
Order of the Silberberg	Teaching and excellence in the Martial Arts, including fighting.
Order of the Augean Stables	Significant contributions made through one great deed or extraordinary effort over a short period of time.
Order of the Silver Oak Leaf	Children who demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to making the Kingdom and Barony a brighter place. Formerly known as the Heart of the Oak.
Order of Tessa	Newcomers who demonstrate service, enthusiasm, and the spirit of an Atlantian. Named in honor of Tessa of Crossgate.
Baronial Award of Excellence	Those whose contributions to the Barony have been particularly excellent or noteworthy.
Baronial Award of Courtesy	Those who exemplify courtesy, chivalry, and honor.
Order of the Northern Light of Bright Hills	Those who demonstrate excellence, honor, courtesy, or chivalry above and beyond their normal duties and exemplify the spirit of Bright Hills.
Order of the Bow and Crescent	Excellence in Target Archery.
Order of the Spur and Crescent	Excellence in Equestrian Arts.
Order of the Shield and Crescent	Excellence in Heavy Weapons.
Order of the Bolt and Crescent	Excellence in Siege and Thrown Weapons.
Order of the Scarf and Crescent	Excellence in Rapier.
