I am Martelle von Charlottenburg, 5th Baroness of the
Bright Hills. In the SCA, landed Barons hold territory for their
Sovereigns; these Barons administer the Crown’s justice and serve
as Their Majesties’ eyes and ears. In return for this Honor, I am
sworn to provide the Crown with counsel; to muster fighters for war; and
to encourage the arts and sciences. As representative of the King and
Queen of Atlantia I am expected to act with Honor, Chivalry and Courtesy,
and I have a responsibility to report to Their Majesties the deeds of
Their subjects that are deserving of acknowledgement or reward. If you
would like to talk with me in person, I can be found at the monthly business
meeting, or at Friday night fighter practice/A&S night, unless I am
traveling to a distant event. My Progress (travel schedule) is published
monthly in the Baronial newsletter, The Yeoman. When I am attending
out-of-barony events I set up a pavilion or day shade and invite all
members of the Barony to take their ease with me.
